Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt, or as you may know them better, “Speidi,” so named by the media, are reportedly considering bankruptcy.
The couple is famous for their over-the-top drama and antics on various reality television shows. Spencer Pratt was dubbed by the media as one of the most hated celebrities alive – a title which he fully embraced. Heidi is known for her ditzyness and similar outbursts those of her husband.
The general public and media seemed to have grown fed-up with the couple’s shenanigans, and stopped caring what they did, contributing to the want-to-be celebrities having difficulty finding work in showbiz. But the main force behind their financial pitfall came from their own frivolous spending.
Heidi Montag, who was a natural beauty to begin with, famously and needlessly got dozens of plastic surgery procedures, ruining her natural look for a plastic one instead.
“I spent thousands on the procedure and after-care,” Heidi commented of her numerous cosmetic enhancements. “I had private nurses coming twice a day for two months for treatments and bandage changes. Each time they came it cost $2,000… I wish I didn’t waste so much money on it,” she finally admitted.
Heidi was not the only one throwing their income away, as Spencer Pratt had developed an insatiable infatuation with crystals. While Heidi was burning their money on her plastic surgeries and treatments, Spencer was wisely spending even more collecting outrageous varieties of crystal jewelry, and we say he’s wiser than Heidi because at least his expenses can be sold to earn some of the money back.
Meanwhile, they couple has had to sink the lowest of lows for a young, recently married couple, and move in with Spencer’s parents. Heidi moaned about their current living arrangements: “Spencer’s parents go to the grocery store for us once a week, and that’s all we get.”
Spencer, on the other hand, actually showed a little humility for one of the most hated celebrities: “In hindsight, we shouldn’t have spent any of our money,” he mused. “We should have been low-key and saved. We did this to ourselves and feel like idiots.”
Yet, while most individuals declaring bankruptcy in a major city like New York might seek an Albany bankruptcy attorney, the couple has made no indication of seriously pursuing bankruptcy. This makes one wonder if they are not as broke as they claim, and are really just attempting another cunning ruse to get attention.
The couple had also spread word not long ago that they were contemplating divorce, but Spencer admitted to creating the false drama in hope that it would boost their faltering careers. He told Life & Style magazine, “The divorce was real – just the idea behind it was different than most people’s… Divorcing was the only way to keep Heidi’s career going because everyone hated me so much.”
